CBD FAQs

Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the 400 chemicals produced by the Cannabis family of plants. Among these are many compounds found in other plants such as terpenes and flavonoids. This is why extractions from different Cannabis plants may offer a variety of familiar scents or tastes such as pine or citrus. Chemicals found only in the Cannabis family, such as cannabidiol (CBD), are called cannabinoids.

The cannabis plant contains over 400 naturally occurring compounds; 66 of these have been classified as "cannabinoids", meaning that they are unique to members of the cannabis family. The two most abundant and well-known cannabinoids are delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (Δ9-THC), which is responsible for the plant's psychoactive properties and cannabidiol (CBD), which is quickly gaining popularity and widespread use. Cannabinoids are separated into various subclasses. These are as follows:

• Cannabigerols (CBG)

• Cannabichromenes (CBC)

• Cannabidiols (CBD)

• Tetrahydrocannabinols (THC)

• Cannabinol (CBN) and cannabinodiol (CBDL)

• Other cannabinoids (such as cannabicyclol (CBL), cannabielsoin (CBE), cannabitriol (CBT) among others)

Marijuana and Hemp are both members of the Cannabis family; however, Marijuana is typically higher in THC and lower in CBD while Hemp is typically higher in CBD and lower (below 0.3%) in THC.

CBD and Hemp Oil are not the same thing! Cannabidiol (CBD) is the actual active ingredient that is derived from members of the Cannabis family. In contrast, Hemp Oil is oil commonly derived from the seeds of the Hemp plant and may contain negligible concentrations of cannabinoids.

The 2018 Agricultural Improvement Act, also known as the 2018 Farm Bill, was signed into law on December 20th, 2018. The law, among other things, removed certain industrial hemp plant varieties from the Controlled Substances Act and allows for the Hemp plant and its derivatives to be shipped and sold across state lines. States and localities, however, may have different or more restrictive policies relating to CBD and hemp products. You should familiarize yourself with your local and state laws regarding hemp and CBD products.

Each and every batch of Nu-X products are tested at third-party independent laboratories. We provide the test results for each batch on our website. Our products are created to meet or exceed industry best practices for quality.

The Nu-X CBD Tinctures and Concentrate E-liquid are produced from industrial hemp and use our full-spectrum CBD distillate which tests at, or below, the allowable 0.3% THC content.

If you are concerned about a drug panel or blood-work yielding a positive THC result, you should consider avoiding any products that contain hemp-derived components.

CBD tincture is a cannabidiol-rich suspension designed to deliver easy-to-measure quantities of CBD. Our Nu-X CBD Tincture is made with full spectrum CBD distillate and each bottle contains 1,000 mg of CBD. Being that it contains a full spectrum distillate, there are a myriad of other cannabinoids in smaller quantities present in the suspension. Please see our product batch Certificates of Analysis to view the full array of cannabinoid content in our tinctures.

Tinctures are designed to be absorbed via membranes in the mouth. Use the graduated dropper included in the bottle to measure the desired amount of liquid. The measured amount should be delivered under the tongue and allowed to absorb for between 20 to 30 seconds.

Yes, in some cases discoloration may occur if your tincture is exposed to light for an extended period of time. If this occurs the oil may appear to have a pink or purple tint. This is a normal process and does not effect the efficacy of the product and can still be used as directed.

True to their name, our CBD concentrates are highly concentrated e-liquid for use with low wattage CBD designated cartridges powered by a device pushing an ideal wattage range of 10w-15w. Nu-X Concentrates are housed in a 10ml bottle and contain 3,000mg of Full Spectrum CBD Distillate suspended in Coconut derived MCT Oil with no added flavors other than the plant terpenes and flavonoids. Note that 1ml of this e-liquid equals 300mg of Full Spectrum CBD distillate.

A full spectrum CBD distillate uses the entire plant in the extraction process to create a final product that includes all of the cannabinoids present within that particular plant. It usually presents as a viscous, amber-colored resinous material. While full spectrum CBD distillates contain primarily CBD (approximately 70%) they may also contain a variety of other cannabinoids that were present in the source material. In contrast, CBD Isolates are products that have undergone further refinement from the CBD distillate base and, as the name implies, isolates CBD from all other cannabinoids and produces a 99% pure cannabidiol product. Depending on which final product is being created, isolate or distillate will be chosen for use based on which material is most suitable for the application.

There are a multitude of reasons that people use cannabidiol. We encourage consumers to do some research on why so many people have decided to make CBD a part of their daily regiment.

As every potential consumer is unique, we always recommend starting with very low quantities and then increasing or decreasing your intake of cannabidiol as you learn how your own physiology interacts with CBD.

Yes, it can. We urge you to consult your physician directly before beginning the use of CBD or any other product. Researchers have identified that CBD can inhibit the enzyme designated as Cytochrome P450. This enzyme plays an important role in how the body responds to certain drugs. It’s not just CBD that can inhibit this enzyme, grapefruit has also been shown to produce similar results - hence the common warning from medical professionals to avoid grapefruit before, during, and after taking medications. The prudent and responsible course of action would be to consult your physician before adding any new elements into your routine.

Take nu-x® CBD as needed. Some people take it only once a day, while others take it three times a day.

Terpenes are aromatic compounds found naturally in fruits, flowers and herbs. In hemp plants, terpenes and CBD coexist.

We list both the total CBD in milligrams for the whole product and the individual serving where applicable.

If you have or suspect a medical condition or are taking any medications, please consult your physician before use.

certificate of analysis, or COA, is an official document from a third party laboratory that shows the various quantities of cannabinoids tested and found in a product.

We test every batch of every product that we make to ensure you are receiving the correct amount of CBD as advertised.
